Monica Patteson is a South Australian actor, director and theatre maker based on Kaurna Land. A graduate of the Flinders Drama Centre, she completed a Bachelor of Arts (Acting) alongside a Diploma of Arts (Directing and Design), establishing a creative practice that spans performance, directing and production.
As an actor, Monica has performed across stage and screen, with credits including The Literati, Sweet Road, Caucasian Chalk Circle, 100 Reasons for War and Spring Awakening. Her screen work includes collaborations on Happy to Help, The Acid Queen, Queen Richard and a range of independent film projects. In 2025, she received the Fleurieu Film Festival Award for Best South Australian Actor for her performance in Happy to Help.
Alongside her acting work, Monica has built an impressive body of experience behind the scenes as a director, stage manager, lighting designer and creative collaborator. She has undertaken Directorial Secondments with State Theatre Company South Australia on Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill and The Dictionary of Lost Words, co-wrote and co-directed the short films AVA and SONDER, and recently directed In Motion for the Adelaide Fringe.
