Hugo de Guzman is an Adelaide-based actor of Filipino and Australian descent working across stage and screen. His work spans feature films, television, web series and theatre, underpinned by a strong commitment to developing his craft across multiple performance disciplines.
His screen credits include the award-winning web series Bloom, the feature film Remnants, and Magpie, Unsupervised and Boarhead. His theatre credits include The Secret River, directed by Neil Armfield for State Theatre Company South Australia and the Adelaide Festival, Memorial, directed by Chris Drummond for the Adelaide Festival, Conundrum Theatre's production of Animal Farm, Lambs with Free Agents Youth Theatre and numerous independent theatre productions.
Alongside his performance work, Hugo continues to train in screen acting, theatre and improvisation. He is also passionate about supporting the next generation of artists, having chaired Windmill Theatre Company's inaugural Little Board and assisted in teaching young performers through Free Agents Youth Theatre.
Beyond acting, Hugo has worked as Assistant Production Designer on Genesis Owusu's music video Death Cult Zombie, reflecting his broad interest in storytelling both in front of and behind the camera.
