David Roberts is an Adelaide-based actor and filmmaker with a Bachelor of Film and Television from the University of South Australia.
His screen credits include feature film Penny Lane Is Dead, Netflix series Territory and A24’s internationally successful feature Talk to Me.
His work also spans short film and theatre, with credits including Display, Product Replacement, Masquerade, Tell Tale Heart and Rhinoceros.
David began his acting training with Don Kountouris before undertaking character-based improvisation with Australian director Robert Marchand, developing his work as a performer alongside his filmmaking practice.
Behind the camera, David has written and directed a number of short films, including Desiderium and Longing For A Goodbye. Desiderium was selected as a finalist in Sony’s Australia and New Zealand Catchlight Film Festival, while Longing For A Goodbye further established David’s work as a writer-director and earned Best Director and Best Short Film during his final year at university.
